Why do we forget to have a terrace during winter time? Inexorably for many of us it becomes a closet, or it is simply forgotten. Not only on Christmas! Especially if the view is on the living area, let's dress it to party!
Few things are enough, perhaps recycling the Christmas tree that we wanted to eliminate to make room for a new one, or a chair a little worn that can turn into a table.
A glimpse of sun on a Sunday afternoon, a cup of steaming tea and you can go out to enjoy your terrace decorated for Christmas and breathe, even from there, all the magic of the celebration.
Today I also have a mini terrace. I swapped from the garden that, of course, I every year adorned, to a small corner of London canal view. I admit it, I like living it and living here.
And it will be the protagonist of some relaxing breaks on holidays.
I added few things.
A minimal Christmas tree, because I, a Nordic style lover, adore to keep the outside as light as winter is, after all.
I chose to decorate the tree just a little, as if it merged with the surrounding nature. I thought more about the atmosphere I wanted to have around. A blanket, a good pillow where to snuggle up, the light of the candles. I chose soft colors and that are well linked with the outside that surrounds me.
I recycled Halloween pumpkins by painting them in white. And I put a writing with some snowflakes on a black bottle that I use as a candle holder. I found the rope carpet on a site selling used items for few pounds.
A big paper star swaying in the wind.
I positioned everything to create that magical atmosphere that only Christmas can give.
And you? What terrace do you want to have?
